Expanding a design system with NEXT Insurance

Upperquad teamed up with friends old and new to extend a modular design system for the NEXT Insurance website.

NEXT Insurance was created to give small businesses the coverage they deserve. With over three hundred thousand customers, tailored insurance is a reality. NEXT serves more than one thousand types of businesses, with policies for their needs just a few clicks away.

NEXT's brand team tapped Upperquad to get deep into the details and extend their design system intelligently for a new website. With some incredibly great work from <a href="https://www.wearecollins.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Collins</a>, <a href="https://buck.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Buck</a>, <a href="http://www.casparwain.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Caspar Wain</a> and <a href="https://www.maggieshannon.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Maggie Shannon</a> and NEXT's brand team, Upperquad rolled up their sleeves and made sure every pixel was arranged to perfection.

Upperquad's latest collaboration with Jigsaw has launched

The Current is an online publication outlining today’s digital threats and solutions. The latest issue explores conspiracy theories, which have legitimized violence, impaired public health, and undermined democratic governance.

Using art and interactive as a storytelling medium, Upperquad presented Jigsaw's research in a way that was informative, accessible and compelling.

Upperquad explores a design system in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.

Over eighty years, the Ford Foundation has sought to reduce poverty and injustice, strengthen democratic values, promote international cooperation, and advance human achievement. Uppequad worked closely with the Ford Foundation's brand team to develop a new visual and storytelling approach.

As part of our process, we immersed ourselves deeply in understanding the organization. We actively engaged with different teams at the Ford Foundation. We looked at challenges, opportunities and audience, translating brand characteristics into visual themes. Upperquad approached brand colors, focus colors, iconography and illustrations with an eye for consistency and accessibility.

The collaboration focused on the home page and presented a first draft of a design system.
