Santa Tracker 2014
Santa Tracker is a holiday campaign for kids of all ages to encourage them to have fun, learn a little bit, and explore the globe. We've been teaming up with the insanely talented Google Maps team at Google for the past 3 years to cram as much jolly as humanly possible into HTML.
Snow-balling toward the big day
On December 1, the Village opens with games, videos, and more surprises to explore. Then, every day, a new experience opens advent calendar-style. From shaving's Santa's beard (ho ho uh oh) to elves with jetpacks, to an elf jam band, the North Pole gets ready for Christmas Eve.
Ho ho ho and hahaha
Every year we create a series of animated shorts in addition to the HTML5 experiences. These videos are easily shareable and can bring people into the Santa Tracker fun without having to visit the site.
Sneaking in a little learning
Who says learning can't be fun? Whether you are learning code fundamentals, how to say Santa in German (that would be "Weihnachtsmann"), or testing your geography knowledge, we made games that are fun for ages 3 to 93.
Fun and reindeer games to go
In addition to the website, we developed games for the Santa Tracker Android App that would be available even if the Internet wasn't.
We have liftoff
On December 24th, Santa starts to make his way across the world delivering presents everywhere from Albania to Zimbabwe. We designed the UI so that people could drop in and check on where Santa is, or lean back and watch on a big screen.
Throughout the day, cards popped up revealing factoids, trivia, games, and photos. You could always get up-to-the-minute stats on presents delivered, miles traveled, and distance to your town.
